In 2011 we will begin the final phase of the renovations of Clonard Church.
This will involve closing Clonard Church for one year. Services will continue as normal, including the Solemn Novena in Honour of our Mother of Perpetual Help, in a temporary Church in the Monastery garden. In fact we are going back in history because that is the way that Clonard was exactly 100 years ago, - we had a 'Tin Church' in the current car park with the new Clonard Church being built in the background. Over the past four years we have had various fundraising initiatives such as the standing order appeal and the 'buy a tile' campaign. All of these have been very successful, thanks to your generosity. They have enabled us to now commence the final phase of renovations.
We now launch the final initiative that enables you to link your name eternally with Clonard Church. We invite you to sponsor a seat.
Alternatively you can sponsor a bench (ie 10 seats). There are over 800 seats in all that you can link your name to eternally. The names of sponsors will be recorded in a Book of Remembrance (if you so wish). Along with all those who have already contributed, their names will be preserved for all time and placed under the sanctuary in a reserved location in the crypt on the completion of the restoration work.
