Ordained priest in 1977 and in 2001 Titular Bishop of Killossy and Auxiliary Bishop of Down and Connor. 20 years experience as a teacher. Has a special pastoral responsibility for youth.

He is an organiser of their DT5 (Discipleship Training Schools) and also of week-end silent retreats. He directs a Forgiveness Project in Belfast schools.
