Bishop Donal McKeown:
Being a Catholic Bishop to-day - Bishop Donal McKeown
Born in Randalstown, he studied theology in Rome and Germany. Ordained priest in 1977 and in 2001 Titular Bishop of Killossy and Auxiliary Bishop of Down and Connor. 20 years experience as a teacher. Has a special pastoral responsibility for youth.

(February 17th) Mr Padraig Twomey:
Being a Catholic Reconciliation Worker to-day - Mr Padraig Twomey
Born in Cork. A member of YWAM (Youth With a Mission). He is an organiser of their DT5 (Discipleship Training Schools) and also of week-end silent retreats. He directs a Forgiveness Project in Belfast schools. A talented unpublished poet.of Psychiatry in UCD. Specialises in research into personality disorders and suicidal behaviour.

Born 1972. Became conscious at 14 of her call to become a nun. Trained as a nurse before joining the Good Shepherd Congregation in 1993. Works with marginalised people. A volunteer on the Serve programme in Thailand.

Born in Limerick 1962. Made Redemptorist vows in 1986. Theology graduate of the Alphonsian Academy, Rome. Worked as a priest in North Eastern Brazil, Cork and Belfast, particularly in youth ministry. Likely to be next provincial of the Irish Redemptorists.

Being a Catholic journalist to-day - Mr David Quinn
One of Ireland's best known religious and social affairs commentators. Cofounder of the lona Institute. Former editor of The Irish Catholic. Now freelance. Writes a weekly column in the Irish Independent. A regular contributor to TV and radio.
