| A Reading from the First Letter of St. John. Think of the love that the Father has lavished on us, by letting us be called God's children; and that is what we are. My dear people, we are already the children of God but what we are to be in the future has not yet been revealed; all we know is, that when it is revealed we shall be like him because we shall see him as he really is. This is the Word of the Lord. |

Prayers for the Day |

Opening Prayer: Lord, in baptism you have given us new life. Strengthen us by your Spirit, to receive your word with joy, and express it in love. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ your Son, Who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, One God for ever and ever. Prayer over the Gifts: Lord, in baptism you restore us to life. Accept the prayers and gifts of your people, and lead us on the way to Salvation. We ask this in the name of Jesus the Lord Concluding Prayer: Gracious Father, Lord, by this sacrament you make us one in Christ your Son. As we share his body and blood, may we grow in love for one another, and come to the fullness of eternal life. We ask this through Christ our Lord. |
