Readings

A Reading from the Letter of St. Paul to the Romans.
The Spirit too comes to help us in our weakness. For when we cannot choose words in order to pray properly, the Spirit himself expresses our plea in a way that could never be put into words, and God who knows everything in our hearts knows perfectly well what he means, and that the pleas of the saints expressed by the Spirit are according to the mind of God.

Prayers for the Day

Opening Prayer:
  Lord, send your Holy Spirit
to make us witnesses before the world,
to the Good News proclaimed by Jesus Christ our Lord,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God for ever and ever.

Prayer over the Gifts:
Lord
Accept our offerings, and send your Spirit
to make us more like Christ in bearing witness to the world.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Concluding Prayer:
Lord, we have shared the one bread of life.
May your Spirit of love confirm our faith,
and keep us one in unity and peace.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
