The Preachers:

Fr. George Wadding, C.Ss.R., - George is a native of Waterford. Familiar to many in Belfast as a past Rector of Clonard, Fr. George now lives in our community in Dublin where he works in the Marianella Pastoral Centre. He makes a welcome return to Belfast for the Solemn Novena.

Fr. Michael Dempsey, C.Ss.R., - Michael is a native of West Belfast, and was ordained a Redemptorist priest in Clonard Monastery last March. Based in Dundalk, where he is part of the parish mission team there, Michael is a passionate Manchester Utd. supporter! He hopes to be celebrating another successful season for the ‘reds’ when he comes to the novena in June.

Br. Brian Nolan, C.Ss.R., - Like many a good Redemptorist, Brian comes from Limerick City where he attended school in our Redemptorist College there. As one of our senior students, Brian has been working with the Clonard mission team, and youth ministry team, for the last two years. He returns to Dublin in September to complete his formation, and hopes to be ordained within the next two years. Often seen in a Munster rugby jersey!

Fr. Brendan Mulhall, C.Ss.R., - Brendan is another native of West Belfast and, since his ordination in Clonard almost four years ago, has been working as a member of the Clonard mission team conducting retreats and missions throughout N. Ireland and abroad. This is Brendan’s second time to preach at the Clonard Novena.

Cantors: Fr. Adrian Egan, C.Ss.R. (Clonard), Fr. John Hanna, C.Ss.R. (Clonard), and Fr. Gerry Cassidy, C.Ss.R. (Clonard).

The Clonard Novena draws thousands of people each day to our Church and local community. We would ask motorists to follow the directions of the steward; in the car park and to have special consideration for local residents and their own parking requirements.

Prayer for the Novena

We thank you, loving Father,
forgiving us Mary the Mother
of your Son,
to be our Mother
of Perpetual Help.

We are grateful for all the favours
we have received through her
powerful intercession.

We pray that these past favours
may inspire us to greater
confidence in your loving mercy

We pray also that these nine days
of
prayer may bring a special
blessing on us,
on our families, on our friends,
on our neighbourhood and
on our city

Grant this, through Christ
Our Lord. Amen.
